Club Sunset Launches Campaign to Prevent Fraud
CANCN, Mexico, Feb. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Nowadays it is difficult to imagine our life without digital devices, applications or social networks. Without a doubt, the digitalization of social interactions makes our daily lives easier, but it can also cause headaches. Yes, it is a double-edged sword and one of the most negative aspects of digitalization is the proliferation of scams, whether banking, real estate, data trafficking... even home deliveries.
Even before mass digitalization, the vacation club industry has been a niche where scammers have set their sights, managing to scam thousands of people. We, at the Club Sunset, are concerned about this situation, so we constantly update ourselves on the tools and mechanisms that scammers use in order to alert our members.
The security of our members is very important to us and that is why we constantly remind them that the Sunset World Vacation Club does not authorize other companies, individuals or intermediaries to negotiate, agree or reserve in our name or representation with our members.
One of the ways a scam is committed is by sending emails that come from domains that are very similar to those of the company with which people are linked in some way, just changing one letter can easily confuse. Even when the advertising may be very similar to that of the Sunset World Vacation Club, it is necessary to pay attention to the small details.
On the other hand, there are always warning signs that allow us to suspect that any advertising received, supposedly from the Sunset World Vacation Club, by email or phone is a scam:
- Promotions at such a low cost that they would not be profitable
- Promotions with open dates, with tours included and even with airline tickets
- The cancellation of your membership
- That the member stops paying or pays maintenance fees in advance
At the Sunset World Vacation Club we always recommend contacting us directly through our telephone directory or the member portal on our website in case you notice something strange and suspect something.
