Ernie Sports Media Launches Second Annual "Ernie Tourney" Bracket Competition

Fans Representing Every U.S. College are Eligible
CHEVY CHASE, Md., March 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Ernie Sports Media, the only app connecting fans with content, sports books and other fans, this week announced the Second Annual Ernie Tourney March Madness competition, unifying college basketball followers across the country.
The free event offers two rewards: a $5,000 prize for the fan with the top men's bracket and the awarding of the coveted Ernie Cup to the school whose fans earn the most bracket points. The Cup is currently held by fans from the University of Virginia and supporters of every U.S. college are eligible, whether their team is in the Big Dance or not.

Ernie Sports Media Founder and CEO Patrick Healy said "Nothing gets sports fans more excited than March Madness, and after last year's successful Ernie event, we're excited to run it back with even more fans and schools involved. Best of luck to everyone competing and may the best fan - and school - win!"
The Ernie Cup currently resides in Charlottesville at Trinity on the Corner, a local bar and restaurant near the University of Virginia. Fans from Temple University and the University of Maryland placed second and third, respectively.
Once this year's tournament begins, Ernie will tabulate the points in each round and report standings on a real-time basis. The school whose fans earn the most total bracket points will be declared National Champion and will receive the Ernie Cup. Standing nearly three feet tall, the trophy resembles the legendary Stanley Cup, modified for college basketball. Fans at the school keep the cup for one year until the next National Champion is determined.
