FAIR: Executive Order Ending Federal Benefits to Illegal Aliens Is a Welcome Relief to American Taxpayers

The following statement was issued by Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) regarding President Trump's executive order ending federal benefits to illegal aliens.
WASHINGTON, Feb. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- "Today's executive order by President Trump ending federal benefits to illegal aliens represents another important step in his administration's efforts to deter illegal immigration and protect the interests of the American people.
"Over the past four years, the Biden administration short-circuited laws intended to prevent illegal aliens from receiving public benefits through its rampant abuse of parole authority and unwarranted grants of Temporary Protected Status, thereby opening loopholes to provide them access to many benefit programs. Today's action by the Trump administration will save American taxpayers billions of dollars a year as every federal agency and department will be required to identify all federally funded programs currently providing any benefits to illegal aliens and take corrective action.
"As the new administration works to fulfill its promises to end illegal immigration and cut government waste and spending, today's executive order will help advance both goals. It is clear that access to the vast array of public benefits that have been made available to illegal aliens has been a driving force behind years of record illegal immigration and the crushing burdens it has imposed on American taxpayers."
