HERTZ TEAMSTERS IN TEXAS AND FLORIDA END STRIKES, RATIFY CONTRACTS

Rental Car Workers at DFW and PBI Airports Secure Wage Increases
WASHINGTON, Feb. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Hertz Teamsters at the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Airport and Palm Beach International (PBI) Airport have ratified new collective bargaining agreements, successfully ending their strikes. The new three-year agreements include wage increases, improved vacation language, and tool allowances for mechanics, among other gains.
"This strike wasn't just about wages - it was about respect, better working conditions, and securing a future for all of us," said Ebony Mason, a chief steward at Hertz and member of Local 745. "We fought, we held the line, and we won real improvements that will benefit every member."
Hertz workers represented by Teamsters Local 745 were on strike for five weeks at DFW while Hertz workers represented by Teamsters Local 769 were on strike for two weeks at PBI.
"Our members stood strong and sent a clear message that they won't settle for less," said Brent Taylor, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 745 and Southern Region International Vice President. Through the support of the Teamsters Industrial Trades Division and workers' determination, we were able to secure a contract that delivers meaningful wage increases, better work-life balance, and stronger protections. This is what Teamsters' strength looks like."
"We are incredibly proud of the 769 Hertz members across South Florida who stood together in unwavering solidarity against the company's unreasonable demands and substandard contract offer," said Josh Zivalich, President of Local 769. "Their strength and unity proved that when we are united, we win."
