Jon Batiste Took Center Stage with Custom-Painted Yamaha Piano at the Big Game 2025

Batiste performed a reimagined National Anthem, playing a Yamaha piano adorned with a painting by his wife
BUENA PARK, Calif., Feb. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Seven-time Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-winning artist Jon Batiste took center stage at the Big Game to perform the National Anthem on a custom-painted Yamaha Silent Grand Piano.
Yamaha collaborated with Suleika Jaouad, the Emmy Award-winning journalist, New York Times Best-Selling author, artist, and wife of Batiste. Jaouad designed the painting that adorned the piano and bench that Batiste performed on. The piano was a stunning depiction of a painted butterfly embodying the power of resilience, beauty and grace.
To commemorate the milestone event in Batiste's hometown, the one-of-a-kind Yamaha piano is currently displayed at the Lapis Center for the Arts, New Orleans Museum of Art, for locals and visitors to enjoy.
"We are very proud to welcome Jon Batiste to the Yamaha Family. His outstanding performance on Football's Biggest Night is just a glimpse of what's to come in this beautiful partnership," says Chris Gero, vice president and chief artist relations executive at Yamaha Artist Relations Group.
Batiste recently graced the Yamaha Grand Plaza Stage at The NAMM Show in January, the largest global music trade event in Anaheim, California. He showcased his diverse talents and energized the crowd by playing the pianica "Oh When The Saints Go Marching In."
