OsteoCentric Technologies Accepts UH Haslam Sports Innovation Center's First Investment to drive Orthopedic Sports Medicine Innovation
AUSTIN, Texas, March 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- OsteoCentric Technologies, a company dedicated to redefining Orthopedic MIS bone preservation technology, is at the forefront of an industry-wide movement, developing innovative solutions to address the systemic issue of bone damage and compromised implant stability. The company has been selected as one of the first investments by University Hospitals Haslam Sports Innovation Center.
Launched in 2023 through a $20 million philanthropic gift from Dee and Jimmy Haslam, the Center is dedicated to identifying and supporting breakthrough technologies that enhance sports medicine, reduce injury risk, and accelerate patient recovery.
As part of this initiative, OsteoCentric's UnifiMI MIS Bone Preservation Tapping Technology & Instant Interlocking Thread-form, was recognized for its profound impact on orthopedic procedures. The clinically proven, implant-to-bone interface technology is the new standard and utilizes the principles of MIS bone preservation and mechanical integration to address the challenges associated with implant survivorship and patient outcomes by:
- Preserving the architecture of the patient's bone during implant insertion
- Sustaining implant stability over time
- Leveraging MIS technology to accelerate the patient's healing journey
"Embracing ever-changing technology like OsteoCentric's UnifiMI not only enhances our ability to repair bones but also paves the way for solutions that foster stability in healing in sports medicine procedures," said James Voos, MD, the Jack and Mary Herrick Distinguished Chair in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and Executive Director of the UH Haslam Sports Innovation Center. "Each new innovation is a step towards a healthier future."
"This investment by UH validates the need for innovation that prioritizes bone preservation and sustaining primary mechanical stability in sports medicine," said Eric Brown, CEO & Founder of OsteoCentric Technologies.
OsteoCentric Technologies was founded in 2015 and is guided by input from leading surgeons to advance solutions for implant survivorship and patient outcomes. The company has offices in Logan, Utah, and Austin, Texas and continues to develop technology that reshapes the bone-implant interface. For more information about UnifiMI and its role in orthopedic innovation, visit osteocentric.com or see us at the American Academy of Orthopaedics 2025 Annual Meeting - Booth #1739
