Universal Technical Institute-Orlando to Begin Offering Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) Program in March

Demand for HVACR technicians is expected to grow by 9 percent through 2033.
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ --Universal Technical Institute-Orlandowill begin offering a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) program beginning in March, adding to the four programs the campus currently offers. UTI is the skilled trades, transportation and energy education division of Universal Technical Institute, Inc.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is projected to grow 9 percent from 2023 to 2033, much faster than the average for all occupations. This underscores the need for technicians who support the systems that control air quality and temperature in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
The nine-month HVACR program will cover air handling and hydronics, AC and DC circuits and components, sheet metal ductwork, vent system selection and installation, and mechanical and electronic controls troubleshooting. Once launched, the campus will offer automotive, diesel, marine, motorcycle, and HVACR programs.
UTI-Orlando Campus President Tim Daubershared, "As enrollment opens for our new HVACR program, we're addressing the growing demand for skilled technicians in Florida's dynamic and expanding temperature control industry."
Universal Technical Institute Division President Tracy Lorenz noted, "With the nationwide demand for skilled HVACR technicians on the rise, we are rapidly expanding our training programs to equip students with the expertise needed to thrive in this vital and evolving field."
The addition of HVACR at the Orlando campus expansion is part of Universal Technical Institute Inc.'s corporate "North Star" strategy of growth, diversification and optimization. The strategy includes the launch of eight full-length programs at existing UTI campuses and a new UTI campus in Atlanta.
