US FOODS TEAMSTERS RATIFY FIRST CONTRACT

Nearly 200 Drivers Secure Substantial Pay Increase and Greater Health Care Benefits
LIVERMORE, Calif., March 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Teamsters drivers at US Foods in Livermore, Calif., represented by Local 853, ratified a first contract that will strengthen pay and benefits. The three-year agreement comes after members successfully organized a week-long strike.
"US Foods thought they could underestimate the Teamsters, but our members don't break. They held the line to win the contract they deserve. When Teamsters fight, corporations fold," said Tom Erickson, Director of the Teamsters Warehouse Division.
"We showed this company that we would not back down until we got the pay and benefits we've earned," said Victor Sanchez, a Local 853 member and driver with US Foods.
Local 853 members secured a 13 percent wage increase, improved safety, paid administrative leave, and substantial savings in health care. The negotiating committee also locked in an agreement with an expiration that aligns with other US Foods Teamsters contracts in the West, putting the union in an even stronger bargaining position for future contracts.
"We will always fight and deliver for our hardworking members," said Steve Beck, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 853. "Our local is working hand-in-hand with other locals in our region, showing the company that the Teamsters are unstoppable."
